PARKINSON'S DISEASE
Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive
neurological disease that results from the degeneration and premature death of brain cells that produce the chemical Dopamine.
Dopamine fuels the brain system that controls motor functions.
Forty
percent diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease are under the age 60. More than one million Americans suffer with it.
Symptoms
include tremor, rigidity, slowness of movement and loss of balance. In time the individual loses ability to move, speak or
even swallow. Because of medicines, most patients are living longer with a better quality of life.
